(Lincoln, NE, August 29, 2022) – Teledigm Health, an affiliate of Bryan Telemedicine, announces Telehealth Alliance of Oklahoma (TAO) is joining The Summit 2022 first annual conference this October. Teledigm Health creates virtual solutions that strengthen rural communities' access to critical healthcare resources and The Summit 2022 is essential for rural providers to engage in new industry insights.

TAO is a statewide collaboration of various organizations and telehealth experts who promote the adoption and expansion of telehealth through education and technical assistance while serving as a resource for government agencies for telehealth services. TAO educates and provides technical assistance to healthcare providers as a means of reducing service barriers to the underserved and those living in rural Oklahoma.

Those combined goals bring Teledigm Health, Bryan Telemedicine, and TAO together to present the first annual Summit, bringing together leading experts in rural healthcare and telehealth technology.

“We are pleased to join forces with Teledigm Health and Bryan Telemedicine to provide helpful solutions to the future of healthcare,” says Sandra Harrison of the Oklahoma Hospital Association and TAO Board Chairman. “With so many challenges in the industry, it’s important to discuss how telemedicine can give hospitals and their patients access to specialists.”

The Summit will address innovations in every facet of healthcare, from staffing to digital infrastructure. The presenters will also discuss new solutions to improve healthcare disparities among rural communities by fostering partnerships and advancing telemedicine technology.

“The ultimate goal of telemedicine is to allow residents to stay within their communities with their providers to receive the care they need,” says TAO Executive Director Tim Davis. “By bringing together healthcare providers and telehealth experts, we can ensure the challenges of the last few years have a positive outcome for every patient.”

The 2022 Summit will be held in Oklahoma City October 3rd through 5th. Attendees can explore the interconnected roles of technology, digital infrastructure, and internal operations to strengthen healthcare. The event will feature thought leadership from Keynote Speaker, Russ Gronewold, CEO of Bryan Health. Transformational Leadership: Bryan Telemedicine’s Shane Fleming wins telemedicine award

(Lincoln, NE, August 6, 2022) – Transformational Leadership: Bryan Telemedicine’s Shane Fleming wins telemedicine award from Teladoc Health for vision and innovation in telemedicine.

Andy Puterbaugh, right, president of hospital and health systems at Teladoc Health, presents Shane Fleming, left, of Teledigm Health and Bryan Telemedicine with the transformational leadership award at the Global Community Advancing Virtual Care Forum in Boston, MA.

JARED BARTON THE COLUMBUS TELEGRAM

In 2014, Columbus native Shane Fleming and Dr. Brian Bossard, of Lincoln, were discussing remote options for hospitals, particularly those in rural areas.

"Really, the mission is essentially to provide services to hospitals so they can take care of more patients locally and patients don't have to be transferred as frequently," Fleming said.

The conversation began to hone in on rural hospitals, who more frequently need to send patients out to other facilities, and thus, lose patients. Losing patients means losing revenue and eventually staff, Fleming explained.

"As our rural hospitals are oftentimes the largest employers in our rural communities, if they close, it's really devastating for the community and this is an option for them to stay healthy, vibrant, relevant and autonomous," Fleming said.

Now, the partnership extends to 55 different service lines across 85 facilities in nine states, Fleming said, all from a headquarters in Lincoln and a home base for Fleming in Columbus.

Bryan Telemedicine and Teledigm Health's Director of Marketing and Analytics Andrew Whitney said the partnership between the two companies allowed for remote access to services rural hospitals otherwise would not have.

"What if there was a telemedicine hospitalist program where you can bring the doctor in on a cart, assess the patient, admit them and be available for questions or anything like that for local providers and keep patients local?" Whitney said. "That's kind of how we started."

Enter the Global Community Advancing Virtual Care Forum in late July. Fleming was presented the Teladoc Health Transformational Leadership award for his leadership of a team that transforms its community by way of virtual health, according to the forum's website.

"The reason for the award goes back to an amazing team of individuals on our team at Teledigm Health and Bryan Telemedicine and the amazing work that they do every day to help move this forward and align with our missions," Fleming said.

Fleming went on to say the award was humbling and shocking, and that the credit for the work done goes back to his team.

"They're so passionate about trying to help out our rural communities so it's really the team that brought this together," Fleming said.

Whitney said Fleming's incredible foresight is a key part of why he won the award.

"The thing about Shane is that his vision is so far ahead that he's always thinking about 'what's the next innovation we can do?'" Whitney said. "Shane's been the key to be able to articulate to Teladoc that if we're going to help save rural hospitals these are the kind of things we have to be doing."

Whitney added that Fleming's push for innovation and focus on rural hospitals has set him and the partnership apart from other telemedicine groups, and that qualifies him for the award as well.

"We're just very different and I think his ability to articulate that message to Teladoc has made us both better companies and that, to me, is where he's really deserving of that award," Whitney said.

Teledigm Health Expands Healthcare Solutions for Rural Hospitals

(Lincoln, NE, October 20, 2021) – Teledigm Health is rural hospitals’ connection to vital resources through telemedicine. As the pinnacle of virtual care, Teledigm Health has expanded its technology and services within pediatrics, antimicrobial stewardship, human resources, and IT technology through exclusive support services and partnerships.

Strategic Partnerships Create New Possibilities

(Lincoln, NE, October 20, 2021) – Teledigm Health is rural hospitals’ connection to vital resources through telemedicine. As the pinnacle of virtual care, Teledigm Health has expanded its technology and services within pediatrics, antimicrobial stewardship, human resources, and IT technology through exclusive support services and partnerships.

Rural healthcare providers often lack the extensive resources available to metro facilities. COVID-19 limited in-person care, catapulting telemedicine to the forefront of patient treatment and critical care to meet market demands. Committed to delivering comprehensive solutions for every facility, Teledigm Health has partnered with Boys Town Pediatrics, Five Nines, The Creel Group, and MDstewardship to provide an array of telehealth services. Through seamless integration, these programs aid in patient care and retention, staff shortages, and specialized expertise, producing greater return and improved patient outcomes.

“Rural hospitals are confronted with many unique challenges, especially during times like this,” stated Shane Fleming, Co-Founder and Chief Development Officer of Teledigm Health. “Our goal is to provide telehealth services across all areas of healthcare to support them. From back-end IT solutions to prevent against cyberattacks, to specialized pediatric care and access to infectious disease specialists, we’ve focused on a wide range of partnerships to deliver more solutions to your patients and staff. With advancing technology, we have the opportunity to give hospitals the resources that they wouldn’t have access to otherwise.”

On top of providing everyday care, hospitals are facing a pandemic and a nationwide staffing shortage. As a result, rural facilities are often forced to transfer patients for treatment. Telemedicine connects hospitals to specialists from across the country, allowing facilities to treat patients closer to home where they’re comfortable.

“Keeping patients local is the key to helping hospitals thrive. By joining forces with other service providers, Teledigm Health is creating new possibilities in rural healthcare,” stated Fleming.

Through advanced medical technology, healthcare staff can consult with specialists in minutes, giving patients the support and dedicated care that they need from the comfort of their community.

Bryan Telemedicine Expands Services During COVID-19 to Help Patients Receive Safe,Virtual Care

(Lincoln, NE, November 24, 2020) – Teledigm Health was created to be agile, adapting to changing healthcare needs by providing access to world-class healthcare through telemedicine. Through specialized services and provider offerings, Teledigm Health continues to drive innovation through expanded service lines with a connection to a deep bench of providers and specialists, so you have a cost-effective, customized solution for your hospital and community.

(Lincoln, NE, June 9, 2020) – Bryan Telemedicine has expanded its services during the COVID-19 pandemic to provide safe, virtual care for patients in a variety of medical specialties throughout the region.

“Telemedicine offers health care providers the opportunity to provide high quality care to the bedside while reducing the risk of exposure to the virus that causes COVID-19,” said Dr. Brian Bossard, president, Bryan Telemedicine. “The use of telemedicine equipment also dramatically reduces the use of personal protective equipment, which was in short supply during the early days of the pandemic.”

Bryan Telemedicine is having a tremendous impact at Bryan Medical Center during the COVID-19 pandemic. Over 50 telemedicine devices have been installed at both Bryan East Campus and Bryan West Campus. The technology is equipped with two-way audio/visual communication and a stethoscope, allowing providers to hear patient heart and lung sounds. The use of these devices helps reduce the risk of exposure for healthcare workers, use of personal protective equipment and provides an option for quarantined physicians to continue to deliver care. Since the beginning of April, over 500 telemedicine sessions have taken place at Bryan Medical Center.

Over 13,000 Screened for COVID-19 Risk

In addition, Bryan Health ezVisit was one of the first components of Bryan’s COVID-19 response. Bryan Health ezVisit is an online, virtual service that allows patients to receive care without going to a physician office. A screening tool was created and used by over 13,000 individuals to assess their risk of COVID-19. It also helped identify patients needing COVID-19 testing and allowed them to receive testing through the Bryan Drive-Thru Clinic.

Not only has Bryan Telemedicine made an impact in Lincoln, its reach has been felt throughout the entire state of Nebraska. Telemedicine services were rapidly installed at facilities in Beatrice, Columbus, Gothenburg, Hastings, Seward and Harlan, Iowa to meet the need for intensivist services, acute pulmonary services and expanded outpatient specialty services.

Finally, Bryan Telemedicine deployed over 100 virtual waiting rooms. This allows specialty and primary care providers to care for vulnerable patients in their own homes and avoid potential COVID-19 exposure for patients, staff and providers. Over 3,000 visits have been completed since the system began in mid-March.

Providing Health Care Safely and Quickly

“The rapid rollout of virtual waiting rooms allowed health care providers to quickly shift to a virtual environment for patient care,” said Andrew Whitney, director of virtual platforms, Bryan Telemedicine. “This solution allowed physician offices to protect providers and staff from potential exposure and allowed vulnerable patients to see their doctor from home where they were more safe from exposure risks.”

Through partnerships with health care organizations across the region, Bryan Telemedicine offers high quality care to patients while allowing them to stay in their community. There are over 30 telemedicine service lines available across eight states. Bryan Telemedicine offers services to patients in hospitals, outpatient clinics, physician clinics, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities and self-insured organizations. In addition, a variety of ancillary support programs are available for hospitals as well as comprehensive consulting services for larger hospitals and health systems. Bryan Telemedicine is recognized as a leader in the telemedicine industry.
